Ask Belle: Ponytail Accessories

Aug 6, 2014

Dear Belle,

I spotted this chic, gold ponytail holder on Pinterest.  I love it, but the one I found at Saks was almost $80.  Can you help me find something similar that I can actually afford?

Thank you, Aimee

That is a sleek looking pony, and what a great alternative to the basic ponytail!  Perfect for these hot summer days.

This round-cuff ponytail holder from Karina is just $7, and looks just like your photo.  I also like this larger, cone-shaped ponytail holder, $18 at Nastygal.  For something smaller, try this brushed-gold holder from Tasha for $14.

Like to wear your hair half-up/half-down?  This clip from H&M can do double duty as a ponytail holder.  I also like this inexpensive long barrette from Urban Outfitters.  A stylish clip or ponytail cover just takes your simple hairdo up a notch.

I recently cut my hair just above my shoulders, and have had to embrace barrettes to put it up. I’m starting to drool over some nicer options than my initial drug-store purchases, namely france luxe: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002COXA4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2QWN35NJZ40KU&coliid=I2XFNP2UBPNV1K&psc=1

It really does look more put-together than a regular ponytail though, I will keep using them as my hair grows out.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
