Six Under $60, Last of the Spring Flings

Jun 10, 2014

rsz_screen_shot_2014-06-09_at_105150_pm1. Mossimo Women’s Drape Jacket ($30) // 2. H&M Butterfly Sleeve Dress ($35) // 3. Express Snakeskin Print Flats ($35) // 4. Gap Colorblock Dress ($69 + 40%-off, code SUNNY) // 5. Vince Camuto Luxe Link Bracelet ($48) // 6. Dorothy Perkins Sleeveless Lilac Blouse ($35)

It’s almost time for summer, so let’s celebrate the last days of spring with some under-$60 fashions.  Because what’s better than a great piece for a great price?

One. Summer whites can be worn over simple dresses or with trousers to bring lightness to your warm weather wardrobe.  This draped piece from Mossimo is a great option, as is this sleeker collarless blazer from Merona (in five colors for $29).  I also love this pretty Modcloth jacket with a scalloped edge.

Two. This dotted dress has a breezy feel that could be dressed up (belt and cardigan) for business casual days or dressed down for summer strolls through the park (sandals and bright accessories).  This fluttery style also comes in a lovely shade of ivory.  I also like this butterfly-sleeve blouse.

Bustier ladies might need a split-neck style, like this dress that comes in navy and dusty pink.  Plus-size?  Don’t miss the dotted dress in a navy print.

Three. These easy snakeskin flats would be a great commuting shoe.  The snakeskin is a versatile neutral and they’re comfortable over medium distances.  Plus, you can tear them up and their inexpensive price won’t break the bank when they wear out.  Want to spend a little more for a structured flat?  Don’t miss these BP Moveover snakeskin flats for $59.

Four. This colorblock dress is so much fun.  It could be worn to barbecues, parties or casual work days with just a few tweaks to your shoes or accessories.  And if you’re not digging the yellow, the dress also comes in raspberry pink.  Also, the dress comes in misses size up to 20, petite sizes and tall sizes.

Five. This toggle bracelet with large links is the perfect easy piece of jewelry.  It’s large enough to be worn alone, or layer it with other chain bracelets for a fashion forward look.

Six. Sleeveless blouses are essential for wearing under suit jackets, and this blouse is a great choice.  I also like this kelly green tie neck blouse from Calvin Klein and this simple banded collar blouse from H&M.  This Pleione sleeveless blouse comes in several great prints.  And I adore the bright coral color of this blouse from Wyatt that would look amazing with navy.

    Hi Belle,

I really like all the pieces in this set. Can you tell me what kind of belt you would wear with that dress? I’m ordering this dress now but I have no idea what kind of belt goes with it.

Thanks for all your help and thank you for taking the guess work out of work appropriate attire.

Ooops I’m talking about the navy blue dress by the way.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
