Marc New York ZigZag Dress ($70)

What I like about Saks Off 5th, the discount retailer for Saks Fifth Avenue, is that they have a wide variety of clothing, shoes and accessories.  They also carry a wide range of sizes plus-size clothing, and the new misses items on sale are usually available in a number of sizes (as opposed to discount sites that only have one or two sizes available).

My favorite spot on Off 5th is the “wear to work” section.  Not all the pieces are winners, but you can find great basics like this tailored, one-button Tahari blazer or this Vince jersey pencil skirt.  I also love this white, stretch-cotton blazer from French Connection.

I also like to check the “new arrivals” to see if I can pick up discounted in-season pieces like this off-white Rebecca Taylor fit-and-flare dress.

I never miss the shoe section, because you can find gems like these DvF wedges.  The handbag section is the same way.  This navy French Connection convertible bag is phenomenal ($35), and this smartphone wristlet would be a great way to carry essentials at work.

If the pandemic did one thing for women, it brought back sweatpants as acceptable attire. But then, fashion decided that we couldn’t wear regular sweat pants, we needed to wear fancy sweat pants. And while it would be easy to disparage the ideal of luxury sweatpants made for chic, casual wear…have you felt how soft […]

WFH Outfit: Denim and Black

Does anyone really know how to dress for a rainy February? It’s not winter. It’s not spring. Sweaters seem heavy. Just a shirt feels like you’ll be cold. It’s a puzzle.
