Everlane Weekender ($95)

Sometimes I find an item so stylish that the sheer awesomeness must.be.shared.  The Everlane Weekender is such a bag.  I love the chic combination of pale grey and chocolate-brown, the relaxed shape and that “I’m so cool, you won’t be able to resist me” vibe.

They also make the same bag in a navy and chocolate brown combination.  But for my money, grey is where it’s at.  Packing for overnight trips just got a lot cooler.

Also, for those of you not familiar with the Everlane brand, they’re definitely worth a look.  The company prides itself on showing you what it cost to make the garment and what their markup is, no need for a feel-good 40%-off sale.  They also make their wares in factories that meet compliance standards, so you won’t be supporting unsafe and inequitable working practices.  And the clothes are great, stylish basics with a modern aesthetic that can work in any wardrobe.

For those who like Everlane, I also suggest Cuyana and Appalatch.

  2. J says:

I bought my husband one of these bags for his birthday and he LOVES it.

Thank you Justine and Belle. Would love to hear more recommendations on brands like these from others as well.

For what it’s worth, I own this Everlane bag and have found that the handle drop is too short to put over your shoulder when the bag is full. I have had to carry it by the handles several times which gets heavy and cumbersome. A long strap would be tremendously helpful. Otherwise, it’s a great bag that has held up well.

  5. Valerie says:

Totally agree! I’ve been using this bag for weekend trips for the better part of a year now, and it holds up great.

  6. SLG says:

To those who have this bag: does the indigo dye wear off on your clothes? I notice the site has a disclaimer about that — which seems odd, since the purpose of the bag is to fill it with clothing.

  7. Meghan says:

i adore everlane and have had my eye on this bag as well! their tees are everything and if santa asks, i want the cashmere as well 😉

  8. emily says:

i have been using this bag since it came out – i love it! i travel for work non-stop and it fits an amazing amount of clothing, while still fitting easily in the overhead bin. even on small commuter planes. it is hard to throw over your shoulder when wearing a coat, but the pros outweigh the cons.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
