There’s a chill in the air, and Halloween is just around the corner. Where did the year go? But I suppose I can at least be glad that it’s time for hot cocktails again?
Today’s cocktail is called the Franklin Stove, and it comes from the blog Food52. It contains a comforting autumn mix of Applejack, apple cider and SNAP, a spicy liqueur made to taste like a gingersnap. It’s perfect for a chilly evening by the fire.
Rennes Sweater (Anthropologie, $88)
I am obsessed with ivory sweaters this season. Obsessed. And the Maje sweater in this photo is the source of my fixation, I love its diamond weave and asymmetric hem. Sadly, I can’t find it for sale anywhere.
The Anthropologie sweater above is the closest thing that I could find. I also love the mix of textures on this Rag & Bone sweater, and this Vince turtleneck sweater with fisherman-weave. And if you want a cardigan, this Topshop knitted shawl is perfect for a cozy evening at home.
Need something under-$100? I also like this open-weave Rubbish sweater that I featured yesterday, and this Gap pullover cable sweater.
Plus-size? This Land’s End cable sweater is fantastic. Petite? The Anthropologie sweater in the photo comes in petite sizes as well.
I’ve been loving all the ivory sweaters making it on your blog and this one is my favorite. I think I’ll head over to Anthro after work today. Thanks!
Hi Belle,
The basic version of the cabled knitting pattern on the Maje sweater is called the “honeycomb”. If you search for honeycomb sweater on eBay, for example, you get this, which isn’t ivory but has the same pattern you’re after: https://www.ebay.com/itm/J-Crew-Honeycomb-Cable-Crewneck-Sweater-Spearmint-Sz-S-/121201495197?pt=US_CSA_WC_Sweaters&hash=item1c382c0c9d
If you’re really longing for that specific pattern, may I suggest saving that search into eBay, or poking around on Etsy – someone somewhere will hopefully have made one; it’s a very popular knitting motif. 🙂 Good luck, I hope you find what you’re looking for!
