Obsessed: Tiny Rings

Aug 7, 2013

tinyrings

A few months ago, I purchased a set of tiny stack rings.  Just a set of plain gold bands (cheaper version here).  Within the month, I was wearing them every day, layering them together or with other rings and sometimes wearing a couple on different fingers.  I became a woman obsessed.  Now, I own more tiny rings than I know what to do with.

Whether you like a little bit of jewelry or a lot, layering thin bangs or tiny rings is a great way to stay on trend while injecting some personality into your jewelry box.  Here’s how to get started creating your own collection of tiny baubles.

Stack Rings. If you’re not sure where to begin, stack rings are where to start.  You can get a few cool bands at a reasonable price and start playing around with them.  If you like the look, keep collection, and if it’s not for you, your investment is minimal.

I love the mix of size, color and texture on this Club Monaco set.  These rings from Last Call have a more uniform bezel-set crystal look.  This hammered gold circle set from Melinda Maria is wonderful.  And if you’re looking for something different these rose gold bands from Gorjana have a cool square shape.

Individual Pieces. Most of the thin rings you see in magazines or on Pinterest are made by two designers: Gabrielle Artigas and Jennifer Meyer.  Their pieces are a little pricey, but they’ve inspired a lot of the folks in the lower price points.  I own the Artigas Hexagon ring, and while I like it, it tarnishes really easily, so that is a bit annoying.

If you’re going to collect individual rings, look for ones with personality.  In the under-$100 category, this Bauble Bar chevron ring and this Bing Bang tiny skull ring caught my eye.  I also like this hammered pyramid ring and this evil eye ring.

Etsy is also a great place to find skinny bands.  Tiffany Ave. Bridal and BK and Jio are two great shops.  But my favorite has to be Stefanie Sheehan.

Midi Rings.  If you’re really looking to layer on the jewelry, you can wear thing bands on the upper part of your finger as well.  These midi-rings are a modern trend that may not be for everyone, but I love them.  I recently bought this Gorjana Stella ring and this rose gold arrow.  I also love this wave ring from Gorjana.  And I wish this gorgeous crown ring from Catbird wasn’t so pricey.

So are you into the tiny ring trend or has it failed to grab you?

I bought my first tiny ring at the Nordstrom sale. It’s gold with my first initial, A. I didn’t think I’d like, but I liked it so much, I went back and bought the same ring in silver. I didn’t think dainty jewelry would be my thing, but I am hooked on tiny rings and thin necklaces.

The beauty of this application is that is that it makes a powerful statement in its femininity.

I own these gold and silver stackable rings and wear them almost everyday! So pretty and dainty.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
