Geometric Eyelet Top ($118)

It’s been some time since I got excited about something that I found at J.Crew.  The quality hasn’t been as good, and the stylish pieces have really gone up in price.  But I saw this cotton eyelet top in person this weekend and loved it.  The cutouts form a cool geometric pattern and the fabric is light but has enough substance to hold up when worn with other pieces.

I found a few eyelet pieces that have a similar style.  This Joie top with pretty embroidery and a boatneck is lovely.  This Ella Moss top has a larger pattern that has a bit of boho to it.

The diamond pattern on this Bella tunic from Coldwater Creek is probably the most similar to the J.Crew top.  I also found this inexpensive Mossimo tee with a similar pattern but a different fabric.  This Rebecca Taylor silk blouse just has the cutouts near the trim.  And if you want to go all out with the geometric cut outs and skip the eyelet look entirely, this BCBG cutout tank is very cool.

There weren’t a lot of choices for plus-size ladies, but I do like this eyelet tunic from Land’s End.  Petite ladies, the Coldwater Creek top mentioned above comes in your size.

  1. J. Crew’s quality really has gone down a lot. Unfortunately their colors and classic fits aren’t easily replicated so I still am a regular customer of the Tippi sweater, but have avoided everything else as best as I can.

  2. Geometric top was a great find! Perfect for the Summer.

Have you checked out H&M’s online store yet? I’m blogging my favorites, today is professional dresses: https://zipstyleseattle.com

The J.Crew blouse is 30% of with code SHOPNOW (making it $82.60), if anyone is planning on buying.

I have been buying less and less from J Crew and more and more from J Crew Factory. The quality is EXACTLY the same from both and the prices at Factory are about half. And, if you wait a season, the same styles that were at J Crew show up in their Factory.
