1. Jules Smith Americana Lock Bracelet ($69) // 2. Boden Bow Dress ($59) // 3. C. Wonder Jewelry Box ($78) // 4. DvF Acedia Lace Top ($120) // 5. Tory Burch Polina Sweater ($275) // 6. Doris Dot Scarf ($50) // 7. Working Lady Satchel ($49) // 8. J.Crew Chino Short ($39 + 40% off)

I must be really anxious for football season to start…I just realized that this set is entirely in Denver Bronco colors.  Eleven more days…

One.  I dig the industrial look of this bangle.  The hinge is fantastic.  It’s interesting without being heavy.  The bracelet reminds me of one of my favorite lines, Giles & Brother.  Their spike cuff and their Archer link cuff are superb.  Looking for a similar look for less?  Try this wire hook cuff for $18.

Two. I posted this pretty dress earlier this year, and it’s still a favorite.  If you’re looking for feminine dresses that are work appropriate, Boden is a good place to start.  This dotted sheath is sublime.  This ponte dress with a flirty skirt would be good for late summer, fall and winter.  I also like this pretty Jacquard dress.

Three. The vibrant color of this lacquer box is to die for.  I also love the cherry red option.  It’s a great way to add a pop of color to your bathroom, your dresser or your coffee table.  I also found this $11 round lacquer box from Container Store that comes in several great colors.

Four. This top is a great transition piece.  It would look lovely with a colored pencil skirt for casual days or under a black blazer in the fall.  The texture is sure to jazz up any piece.  Need a lace top for less?  I love this Funktional scallop lace tee and this lace floral peplum top from Intermix.

Five. A nautical stripe sweater is great for chilly nights in the late summer and layering in the fall.  I would wear this with yellow shorts on my Montana vacation or with colored denim and a trench in October.

Also, if you’re still looking for a striped tee for summer, I just bought this Banana Republic tee (on sale for $18) and I love it.  It’s super soft and has a great length and fit.  Need a specialty size?  Plus-size ladies should try this cool, Land’s End  square-neck stripe top for $16.  Petites should check out this Liz Claiborne tee with gradient stripe.

Six.  I love lightweight scarves for fall and late summer.  Banana Republic has some great choices.  The orange is vibrant, this raspberry and navy print is sublime and this scarf with a mix of blues is gorgeous.

Seven. I don’t know about you, but I am so over digging in my purse for things.  I’ve been looking for a slimmer, top-handle satchel instead of a cavernous tote.  I love this VC satchel that’s designed to hold an iPad, and this Deux Lux colorblock lady satchel is nice too.  I’m also seriously considering this Brahmin Delphine Rose satchel in embossed crocodile.

Eight. This is the first summer in several years that I’ve worn shorts on a regular basis.  The J.Crew chino shorts are my favorite and they’re currently on sale.  My favorite 4″ shorts are also on sale (ones above are 3″), so take advantage of the sale and stock up for the last part of summer and next year.

I love number 5 and 7. 5 looks like a J Crew shirt, and 7 looks like a Tory Burch bag. I can’t believe how cheap 7 is!

  2. Heather says:

Love the Boden Bow dress and everything on their website! I’ve never heard of Boden before. The website says British style, but its a US site. Do you know if the sizing is Euro sizing or American?

  3. R says:

btw — banana republic has an extra 40% off already reduced items, so the striped tee referenced under number five is only 8.99 right now.

  4. Teri says:

That striped Banana tee is IT. I’m so glad you linked to it; I bought one earlier this summer and am now snapping up two more! The quality blows that of a similar J Crew shirt I bought last year out of the water.

  5. Kate says:

I’ve been buying the J.Crew chino shorts for years and was due for a new pair or two this summer. I went in this weekend to take advantage of the additional 40% off sale and decided to try on a few pairs. Luckily I didn’t just pick up the new versions without trying them on! I was really disappointed to find that the weight of the fabric and the fit seem to have changed over the last year or two. (I had better luck with the Gap version!)

  6. Katie says:

    Go Broncos! 🙂

  7. Genny says:

Also perfect for Syracuse alumni 🙂 GO ORANGE!!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
