1. Cedric Charlier Modern Layered Dress ($590) // 2. Foil Dot Scarf ($225) // 3. Arrows and Moonstones Cuff ($155) // 4. Ink-Colored Maxi Dress ($28) // 5. OdlR printed halter-neck suit ($255) // 6. Mesh Details Baroque Top ($50) // 7. Aldo Ester Heel ($100) // 8. Tasseled Chain Bag ($148)

One. I love this shade of pale pink.  It’s so light and fresh without being too fussy.  I also like the tiered style of the dress.   It reminds me of the gorgeous grey Phillip Lim dress.  Looking for a cheaper option?  This blush dress from ASOS and this white, eyelet Trina Turk dress has a similar shape.

Two.  This gold foil scarf is just incredible.  Finding anything comparable was damn-near impossible.  I do like this metallic scarf from Lilly Pulitzer (this $9 Forever 21 option is a good alternative).

Three. These open bangles are really popular right now.  I love the moonstones on this one and the winged-detail.  I also found this initial bracelet.  Prefer some sparkle?

This simple zircon bracelet is a versatile choice.  I also love this bracelet with conical stones.  And this Calvin Klein bracelet with green glass is modern and chic.  All of these choices are under-$75.

Four. This maxi dress would be perfect for the airplane.  A jersey maxi and a long cardigan is as close as you can get to wearing pajamas while still being dressed.  I also love this short-sleeved dress with a fitted waist.  Plus-size ladies should check out this striped Old Navy dress, and petite ladies should look into this awesome printed Target dress.

Five. I am obsessed with the watercolor print on this swimsuit.  But $255?  On sale?  I think not.  But this basic black Old Navy swimsuit has a similar shape at a wallet-friendly price.

Six.  Go to the Mango website so you can appreciate the full glory of the embroidery on this top.  It’s fine, I’ll wait here.   I’d recommend wearing a nude tank underneath, for obvious reasons, but I would pair that with skinny jeans and colored flats to run weekend errands.

Seven.  I have now ordered five pairs of “nude” pumps and found something wrong with all of them.  If this Aldo pair isn’t the winner, I’ll probably just go barefoot this summer.  Or use this fruitless quest as an excuse to buy these Valentino shoes and spend the rest of the year paying them off.

Eight. I love the details on this chain clutch–the braided strap, the tassel, so fab.  It would make a great summer bag because it’s big enough to hold all the essentials and small enough to tote anywhere.  And if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, this $38 bag from Nordstrom is a good choice.

I’m having the same issue with nude pumps. My current pair is very ragged looking. I take it the nude/beige pumps from Ann Taylor didn’t work out, Belle?

  2. Rachel says:

That swimsuit is gorgeous! It’s so hard to find cute one-pieces.

  3. ad says:

I have those Aldo pumps. Hate everything else in the store, LOVE those pumps.

  4. Terri says:

Does anyone know how Aldo sizing runs? In need of a new pair of “nude on me” pumps.

    • Valerie says:

From friends I’ve heard it depends on the style. Most run either a half or whole size small. I’d probably order the pumps a half size up.

  5. Z says:

I love Naturalizer pumps. Classic style, affordable, and comfortable.

Like LS I’m curious to know what Belle thought about the Ann Taylor pumps. I have them in beige snakeskin for work and love them. I also have a pair of Nine West “Fortonight” beige pumps for dressier occasions when I want a higher (4.5 inch) heel– they’re identical to the Jimmy Choo “Cosmic” shoes.

Also, for a *much* cheaper alternative to Valentino’s rocker shoes, have you seen these at Zara? https://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/us/en/zara-nam-S2013/358017/1193552/STUDDED+SANDAL

I’ve spent weeks trying to find a nude shoe as well–my UPS man must think I’m nuts with all these shoe deliveries. I’m not sure what particular AT pair you’re waiting on but I have a pair of the Perfect Pumps from a couple years ago and they are beautiful and comfy and well made. I tried to replace them with another pair of the same shoe recently and thought the sizing and quality was now not as good, so back they went. Ugh. I finally settled on a pair of the Apricot Mist Valentinas from JCrew (thank you 25% off sale). They’re not exactly what I thought I was looking for (a liiiiittle more pink than nude for example) but I adore them, they are comfy and they have proven to be incredibly versatile. Best of all, I feel confident/very chic wearing them so although I know we’ve all been a little miffed with JC as of late, I have to say I love the Valentinas.
