Ask Belle: Spring Shoes Under-$100

Jan 29, 2013

Dear Belle,

Thank you for the outfit posts last week, they were so helpful.  But I was wondering, could you provide some examples of inexpensive (under $100) shoes for spring?  I could use a new pair, or two.

Thank you! Claudia

The stores are just starting to fill up with clothes and shoes for warmer weather, but I managed to find a few good suggestions to cover the basics and bring some color to your wardrobe.

1. Aldo Romelia Pumps ($46) // 2. Aldo Heliette Ankle Straps ($80) // 3. Nine West Drusilla Pump ($79) // 4. Forever 21 Metallic T-Straps ($20) // 5. Corso Como Tawna Flat ($99)

Red Shoes. I think red, patent leather shoes are a wardrobe essential.  You can pair them with navy and grey in the summer and black in the winter.  They add color to any outfit and they can make even a lackluster black and ivory outfit stand out.

These Aldo shoes have a cool shape on the vamp that cuts at a sharp, sexy angle.  If you prefer round toe, these Rocha pumps are a good option.  And if you like flats, these Ted Baker’s are just over $100.

Ankle Straps are very hot this spring.  They are everywhere.  I love the mix of cognac and snake print on these, but the black and tan are also nice.  And if you have a bit more to spend, these nude, suede Kors shoes have a really cool shape.

Black Round Toe Pumps are a must have if you wear heels to work.  These Nine West shoes are the perfect shape, and if you add a gel insole to the front, you’ll never be uncomfortable.

T-Strap Flats are great for casual Fridays.  I would wear these with breezy dresses or jeans.  And you really can’t beat the price. These grey Sigerson’s are also pretty fantastic.

Bright Flats are my new spring staple.  These coral ones are definitely on my list.  But you could also try a pair of bright yellow, cobalt or emerald green.

So what shoes are you craving for the spring season?

Since it's nearly 70 degrees in DC today (and tomorrow!), I've definitely been thinking about spring shoes. Last season I bought two pairs of the Dolce Vita “Archer” sandals, and I may get another pair soon, they are $70, immensely comfortable, and classy enough to wear with dresses for casual spring/summer events. I am also lusting after the Rebecca Minkoff “Stella” platform sandals, but at $325 they are definitely out of my price range.

Oh, thanks for the tip on the Archer's, Valerie. When I looked them up on google, I found that 6pm has several colors available for $39.99. A pair is going in my cart right now.

The Mondays: July 22, 2024

The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue […]
