Election 2012 Footwear from TOMS

Sep 13, 2012

They’re Back!  TOMS has created election-themed flats for all of us who will be doorbelling, lit dropping, getting out the vote or supporting our chosen political party this season.

From the Left: Democrat Toms, Vote Toms and Republican Toms ($58)

I had a pair of the 2008 edition shoes.  I have no idea what happened to them, so I am glad TOMS decided to offer them again.  I added a ball-of-foot gel insole for extra cushion and my feet felt just fine all campaign season long.

Do you know if you can get these in stores anywhere in the DC area? Toms are so particular with sizing, I'd love to be able to try them on first! Thanks!

  2. KL says:

I'm so excited to see that they came out with a non-party “Vote” pair this time around! Great option for Independents, people of other parties, or those who just don't want to wear their party affiliation on their sleeve (or shoes!)

  3. Anna says:

Oh goodness, I think TOMS are disgusting. They look like what I'd imagine homeless elves wearing. I even boycott they're non-traditional, cuter looking styles out of principle.

  4. Jes says:

I agree with Anna! There are cute non-Toms-Looking-Toms but I just can't bring myself to wear a brand of shoe that makes me think of little potato sacks on my feet…

Sometimes I really, really want Toms (especially these election ones) but really… homeless elves/potato sacks. I just can't do it.

  5. r says:

Super cute! I'm not campaigning this year, but maybe my feet willl 😉

  6. rebecca says:

,,,yeah, they're back! love “Toms.” can't wait to sport these comfy shoes as i dial for votes, ring doorbells, hand out literature, and vote on tuesday, november 6th,,,

  7. helixy says:

I must say that I am surprised that you are down for sporting Toms… while I am not as stylish as I'd like, I think Toms are almost as bad as Uggs and Crocs on the, “Dear heavens, WHY?!” list.

  8. CarlyRM says:

helixy, my thoughts exactly. Toms make feet look like a wrapped burrito.

  9. RS says:

Agreed, helixy — I was surprised to see Belle endorsing Toms. I think they are just as hideous as Crocs. At least Uggs are functional – they can keep your legs warm in the winter.

I still think you're great though, Belle 🙂

  10. Erica says:

these are pretty awful! although i don't really like any style of toms, maybe that is the problem…

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
