Polyvore Set Here.

For the Office.  This blouse contains many different colors–purple, yellow, coral, blue, green–but for this outfit, I wanted to play up just one of those colors by adding a coordinating cardigan.  I tried pairing a colored cardigan with a colored skirt, because the blouse contains pastels, it ended up looking like an Easter egg.  Not good.

As for the neutral skirt, I could have chosen pale grey, navy or a darker tan.  However, I liked the idea of pairing the ivory in the blouse with an ivory skirt.  I think it’s a bit cleaner.

The accessories are very simple, as usual.  I added a green earring, because I like green and yellow together, and a large gold ring in a simple shape.  I also added a tan pump, but you could try a colored shoe if you prefer, perhaps a purple.  And the bag is quite stylish for under-$100.

For the makeup, I would make sure that my eyes and lips are well defined.  Why?  Pastels can wash you out and make you look pale, so adding eye liner, filling in your brows and wearing a matte lipstick in a color that works for you (not a neon, but perhaps a berry or a richer pink), keeps you from being washed away by the light palette.  For the hair, I would wear it down with a few bouncy curls.

For Casual Friday. Whether you can wear colored denim to work really depends on your office.  As long as the rest of the pieces are conservative–no sparkly tops or sheer tees–I can, but as I said, it really depends on your office and your dress code.

I played up the ash violet shade in the blouse with a similarly colored pant (the link above is for an eggplant pair that offers more sizes, here is the link for the ashy-purple pair).  I like the look of the “trendy” colored jeans with the ladylike, printed blouse.  And I added a coral flat to make the outfit a bit more fun, but you could easily add an open toe beige pair.

I adore these tiny rose gold earrings.  They are so sweet, and perfect for every day.  I added a rose gold watch, and I would probably layer some rose gold bracelets as well.  And the bag is just the perfect casual bag, it’s a little different, totally stylish and large without being too big.

For the hair, I would wear it up, maybe in a bouncy ponytail or a twisted updo.  For the makeup, I would wear a coral nail polish with a matching sheer lip gloss.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
