Polka Dot Dress (Mango, $40)

I like to keep a few simple dresses around for mornings when I don’t want to think too hard about what I’m wearing.  Usually, on these mornings, I’ve overslept. Shhh. That’s our little secret.

Check back at 1:00PM for Two Ways to wear this dress.

it's such a cute dress, but looking at it on the website, it looks incredibly short. 6″ above the knee is much too short for a work dress.

  2. ADL says:

Love this. And I too have several dresses that are my “easy to throw on” dresses.

  3. Kate says:

Belle, would a dress like this be ok to wear to a wedding if accessorized properly?

  4. Nina says:

Belle, can you comment on the length and the sheer-ness of this dress?

  5. Belle says:

Kate: Depends on the wedding of course. But it would be fine for a casual ceremony in the afternoon.

Nina: I cannot. But I own two Mango dresses, one is quite sheer (I wear a full slip under it) and one is not. So I think it's hit or miss.

  6. DCGal says:

So cute! Sadly, also sold out in every color…

  7. meg says:

I can't tell if this is an elastic waist or a tie belt. Does anyone know?

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
