Jan 13, 2012

This Sunday, the Golden Globes will kick off the 2012 award season in all of its sequined, chiffon-ed and stiletto-ed glory.  Because I’ll need to post on my day off (Monday), I decided to take today off.  Now, for those of you who aren’t familiar with what awards season means to CHS, allow me to elaborate.

This Sunday at 5:00PM, 6:00PM, I’ll be hosting a liveblog so that we can snark and compliment the red carpet styles of the famous and infamous.  Then, on Monday, I’ll post my favorite looks, the looks that were just meh and the looks that made me want to slap a stylist.

Predictions for this year’s red carpet? Pastels, prepare for a lot of Easter egg-colored dresses.  More jewelry, the celebs have been wearing a little less bling since the recession started, but that can’t last.  I expect to see more jewelry this year than we saw last time.  With the popularity of shows like Boardwalk Empire, The Great Gatsby movie in production and the Ken Burns documentary on Prohibition, the 1920s are hot right now.  I expect to see some Roaring 20s inspired garb coming down that carpet.

Hopefully, I’ll see you ladies back here on Sunday for the liveblog and on Monday for the recap.  Enjoy your weekend!

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]

The Find: My Best Workout Shorts

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
