Sachin & Babi Belted Crepe Gown (TheOutnet, $238)
I love this dress. It’s perfect for D.C. events because even formal parties are such a mish-mash of evening, cocktail and business attire that I’m always reticent to go all out. This dress is the perfect mix of relaxed and elegant.
This dress really is for smaller busted ladies, but this navy jersey maxi has a similar look and a style that would be more flattering on a well endowed woman.
Belvedere Black Raspberry vodka
Rose Champagne any kind
Dash Peychaud bitters
Add 3/4 ounces of the vodka, three blackberries and the bitters to a cocktail shaker. Muddle. (If you don’t have a muddler, the handle of a spatula works.) Strain concoction into a champagne flute and top with rose.
I like this cocktail because it’s not too sweet. I also like it because there aren’t many ingredients. Sometimes cocktail recipes look more like expensive shopping lists than a tasty libation.

Such a lovely dress plus a delicious and perfect drink. Oh, what a wonderful night it would be if you wear that dress.

I love the simplicity and the elegance of that dress…and what a beautiful color!
I love this dress! I might buy it–it looks to be of sufficiently substantial weight that it would be possible just to wear silicone nipple covers, and the color is too awesome to pass up.
What shoes would you wear?
i love ur blog!! been a reader for a few months now, ever since i moved to the district. it's tasteful and reminds me of my fav blog, cupcakes & cashmere. thank u, belle!
s-I would probably go for a tan or cognac sandal.
thanks for the shoe suggestion! I'm going to wear this to a party next month 🙂 I love the sleeves so very much.
Belle – can you link to the similar navy jersey maxi you recommend for bustier women? Thanks in advance.
