Sale: BCBG 30-Percent Off

Nov 7, 2011

I have a love/hate relationship with BCBG.  I own pieces from their lines that I love, but their schizophrenic sizing between pieces and inconsistent quality has kept me away recently.  So when I heard that they were having a 30-percent-off sale, I thought, “Meh.”

That is, until I saw some of the pieces on sale.

Haylan Striped Dress (BCBG, $258 – 30% = $181)

This is the perfect winter dress.  It’s different without being weird.  It’s modern without being too harsh.  And you can wear it on a date or just as easily wear it to the office.

Carlin Wool Trench Coat ($498 – 30% = $359)

This coat is amazing.  An update of  the classic trench shape, the coat looks just as chic buttoned or unbuttoned.  And since it’s camel, it blends seamlessly with every other color palette (black, grey, brown, navy).  So cool, so effortless.

Frankly, if I were going to take full advantage of this sale, I would skip the cheaply made sweaters and flimsy knits and focus on the handful of pieces that reach a bit higher.  Sales like this are perfect for splurging on one or two items, not filling your closet.

As for other pieces I loved: these wedge boots, leather-accented leggings and tasseled box-clutch also caught my eye.

    Hey Belle-

The leather leggings intrigue me- but I'm really scared to try them. Outfit suggestions?

    Thanks! 🙂

  2. Belle says:

Only one: Leggings are not pants. Buy a sweater or sweater dress that covers your rear. Put on some boots or booties and call it a day.

  3. J says:

Ahhh.. I have been looking at this coat every day for a week. It is perfect.

I think this is the most perfect classy new take on the camel coat I have seen in a long time.

The Mondays: July 22, 2024

The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue […]
