I spent the bulk of last week fighting a terrible cold. And judging from the empty shelves in the cold medicine section of CVS, I wasn’t the only one.
Now, when you’re sick, how you look tends to be the first thing that goes out the window. When I’m curled up on my couch sipping Theraflu and praying for the coughing to end, I could care less what I’m wearing. But when I need to go to the hospital, where the cute doctors live, I put forward a bit of effort.
For a look that is cozy, comfortable and chic, you need sweatpants that are clean and fit well. These sweatpants from J.Crew are both, just keep in mind that you may need to size down. I also added a chunky, knit sweater for warmth and style. Add a pair of metallic sneakers, a stylish tote bag and a pair of stud earrings and your outfit is almost complete.
I also added a pair of oversized sunnies. A lack of quality sleep and a refusal to wear makeup while sick, makes a chic pair of sunglasses an absolute necessity.
You can look stylish while ill, whether you choose to is up to you. But I find that looking like a person who’s not sick makes me feel a little less awful. Well, that and Zicam.
