10th Commandment: August 1

Aug 1, 2011

As we observe a moment of silence for July (and try not to panic that it’s almost Fall), it’s time to start thinking about pieces that will transition into the cooler weather.  Today, we have a jersey dress that is perfect with sandals for an al fresco brunch or with a denim jacket and flat boots for a picnic in the park.

Whirligig Dress (Anthropologie, $138)

Love it! I've been eyeing this dress for a few weeks but have resisted because of the price. Do you think I could get the same summer/fall versatility out of the pink color?

  2. Valerie says:

LS: absolutely yes. I bought this dress several years ago when they last had it in stock, and have worn it summer, fall, and spring…it all depends on the other clothing and shoes you wear with it. The jersey is solid enough that with tights and boots and a jacket in the fall it will be warm enough.

  3. Valerie says:

P.S. I wear this dress so much that I am buying it again in two different colors.

  4. R says:

I also have this dress and it is super comfortable. Very glad I bought it this year (in a berry color).

  5. Ms. B says:

Went to anthropolygie – Belle, you must have quite a following because the dress in my color of choice and size is not available. (Sigh)

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
