Happy Hour: Thanksgiving in a Glass

Nov 24, 2010

This dress is so simple and ladylike.  It’s perfect for the Thanksgiving hostess who wants to inject a little Betty Draper into her holiday party.  I would add some gold bangles, a simple stud earring, and either a nude heel (yes, it’s okay for Fall) or a camel boot.
If you love pumpkin pie, you will love this pumpkin martini.  It’s smooth, and the perfect precursor to your turkey and cranberry sauce feast.
Ingredients
1/2 oz cream liqueur
2 oz vanilla vodka
1/2 oz pumpkin liqueur
1 tsp whipped cream
cinnamon stick for garnish (optional)
Preparation
Pour the liqueur and vodka into a shaker filled with ice.
Shake well.
Add the pumpkin liqueur.
Shake again.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass with a brown sugar rim (optional).
Top with a teaspoon of whipped cream (optional).
Garnish with a cinnamon stick (optional).

Happy Hour

    Hi Belle,

I need some advice. I need sweaters, stat! I'm freezing out there and I did not buy sweaters at the beginning of the season like everyone else. Can you suggest some cute looks to carry me through the winter? I would love something more warm/cozy than the belted long cardigan. 🙂

    Thanks!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
