Belle's Weekly Reading: Volume XIII

Aug 20, 2010

Next week, CHS will start featuring Fall fashions.  If you don’t think you’re ready for sweaters, blazers and tall boots (oh my!), then you might want to avoid the afternoon posts.  I wouldn’t want our Fall coverage to kill your end of Summer buzz.

Get Schooled. Speaking of the end of Summer, it’s almost time for the interns to head back to school.  Luckily, the Washington Post has a trend report featuring some of the cutest school supplies this side of Staples.  I love the Academic Planner so much, it kind of made me wish I was back in class.

Gettin’ Burned.  For those of you enjoying the final days of Summer by the beach and pool, you need to be worried about sun damage.  Should you get a bit overcooked while basking in the glow of August, Glamour has some tips for how best to take care of a sunburn.  Of course, there’s no cure that works as well as a good SPF before hand.

Get the Glow. If the sun isn’t your friend, beauty blogger Jenn Falik has a product for you.  The St. Tropez aerosol can let’s you get the glow of a professional spray tan without leaving the comfort of your own home.  No sunburn required.

Get Tailored. District Cut has a tip for all your gentlemen about town: Get a good tailor.  His suggestion? Field English Custom Tailors in Georgetown.  After all, there’s nothing a woman likes better than a sharp dressed man.  That lesson courtesy of the prophets ZZ Top.

Got Chic? We’re weeks away from the cooler weather, and I’ve already started thinking about a new suit for Fall.  Thanks to Corporette the early frontrunner is this Classiques Entier piece with just the right amount of sweet and sass.  I especially love that I don’t need a blouse to wear with it.

Please tell me you're going to write about fabulous ways to wear my cowboy boots! I LOVE that picture…it doesn't happen to be from around here??

  2. Jane says:

I am so grateful for District Cut for telling the men of this city that they NEED a tailor. It's ridiculous the amount of men I see daily in ill-fitting suits.

    DIY spray tan?

Not sure about that…. Miss Falik sounds pretty persuasive but nothing beats the fact that I'm rather uncoordinated and anything that has even the remotest risk of streaking is a big no-no.

Three Outfits I’ll Wear All Spring
