Happy 2nd Birthday!

Two years ago today, I launched Capitol Hill Style to save the greater D.C. area and beyond from the scourge of bad fashion.  Over the past 730 days, this site has grown by leaps and bounds.  The site has had over 500,000 visitors, nearly 1,000 posts and so many comments, reader e-mails and tweets that I don’t dare count them.

Frankly, I couldn’t be prouder of the monster I’ve created if it climbed off the table and started terrorizing the Croc wearing villagers all by itself.

Here’s to several more years of faux pas, styling advice, beauty products and fiscally feasible fashion choices.  Thank you for visiting this site, commenting on the posts, and making CHS a fun and stylish place to be.

xoxo

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

Three Outfits I’ll Wear All Spring

When I started this blog, influencers still re-wore clothes. There were no haul videos filled with the latest from Shein before it winds up in a beach in Ghana poisoning the planet. There were no sponsored campaigns delivering fresh wardrobes each month. The content machine doesn’t like reruns.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
