Chic and Comfy Flats

Aug 16, 2010

Like many Westerners, I learned to drive a pick-up truck at 14-years-old.  As a result, I had never taken public transportation or walked further than the length of a parking lot until I moved to D.C.

I adjusted to my new life as a pedestrian by choosing a purse big enough to hold a pair of shoes.  But while carrying two pair of shoes is a necessity it required that I carry my Minkoff MAB every time that I go out.  Thus, I was thrilled to discover a foldable ballet flat that is compact enough to fit into your tiny clutch.

Made by Yosi Samra, these adorable flats come in a myriad of chic colors–the rose gold above being my favorite.  And priced at just $55, you can wear them until they split apart at the seams without feeling guilty about it.

So far all of you ladies who need a chic flat that won’t take up all the room in your handbag, give the Samara flats a try.  It’s certainly better than walking home from a long day/night in agony.

SO ADORABLE, but do they really have to be $55? For that price, they'd better fix up the chips in my pedicure! 😉

Do you think they would stay on a narrow foot? Or do you know of something similiar that comes in a size narrow? I'm getting tired of carrying around a tote bag to hold extra shoes!

Footzyrolls are only $30 and they have two sizes of carrying cases that come with. One to roll up small enough to fit into a clutch and another for a normal purse. I think a carrying case is a must when they are touching dirty city streets and you are sticking them in your handbag.

I think there are two distinct catagories of ballet flats. The ones you roll up and stick in your purse to save your aching feet from having to hobble to the metro at the end of the night and the ones you wear normally. I think this is trying to mesh the two together (or so i'd hope for $55) and I dunno if I'd want to really roll up a nice pair of flats.

Another good and affordable option are Cityslips, retailing for $24.95 – I've seen them around the web for as low as $19 new. https://www.cityslips.com/

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
