Lounge Poolside in Style

Jun 24, 2010

A few weeks ago, my rooftop pool opened for business. (I know, be jealous.)  Sadly, the people lounging poolside are hardly the glamorous crowd that one might expect from a building full of chic urbanites.  In fact, the loungers and bathers at my pool look just like the customers at any Suburban VA pool except with fewer children.  So what do you say we try to kick this up a notch?

After all, you didn’t spend all Spring getting into “swimsuit shape” to wear Adidas flip flops, did you?  I thought not.

Ray Ban Classic Aviators (Net-a-Porter, $139)

Buttercup Bikini (Anthropologie, $116)

Fitzwell Men’s Tall Shirt (Zappos, $39)

Sure, you could spend a few hundred on a “pool cover-up” from Tory Burch or another designer, or you could just convert a tall (for length) men’s shirt into a cool cover-up with…

Guy Laroche Vintage Rope Belt (Etsy, $29)

Printed Ropes Toe (Forever21, $6)

Frye Dani Woven Sandal (Zappos, $77)

The Range: Eyelet Tops for Summer

Airy eyelet fabrics are one of my favorite spring/summer looks. White is, of course, the traditional fabric. But white is tough to wear when you have a toddler, so let’s go with navy this summer. Corner Office Ralph Lauren Embroidered Eyelet Top ($203) Cubicle Farm Ann Taylor Cotton Eyelet Top ($95) Front Desk Joe’s Jeans […]
