State of the Blog: Lord Help Us, It's February

Feb 1, 2010

It seems impossible that it is actually February, but alas, my calendar confirms that it is so.

Valentine’s Day.  In honor of Cupid’s favorite holiday, Miss M, Beau and I are preparing a stellar Capitol Hill Style Date Week filled with posts on where to eat, what to wear and how to put a little spark into your V-day. And since chocolates, roses and lace undies are boring bordering on thoughtless, we’ll also feature helpful gift guides that will make your sweetheart swoon.

So if you need an outfit, restaurant or lingerie recommendation (ooh la la) to spice up your holiday, write us at capitolhillstyle (at) gmail (dot) com.

The Resale Salon Relaunch.  The Resale Salon re-launches this Sunday.  So if you have an item of gently used clothing (or several) that you are looking to part with, send a photo and description to the e-mail address above.  If you need more information on what kind of items that the Resale Salon accepts or what details you should include, click here.  Deadline for this week’s submission is 6:00pm Saturday.

Advertising.  Starting soon, Capitol Hill Style is going to start accepting advertising.  The animus for this is simply that I need to cover the costs associated with operating the blog, and hopefully make enough money to afford by growing vintage habit.

Please understand that I take my commitment to providing unbiased information seriously, so you can rest assured that there will be no posts touting the joys of Uggs, Crocs or Vera Bradley no matter how much they pay me.  Okay, that’s not entirely true.  There’s a price, but I highly doubt they could afford me. *wink*

Our first advertiser will be local favorite, Coup de Foudre.  Ms. Lucas’ lingerie has long held a cherished place in my dresser drawers because pretty underpinnings are essential to feeling pretty on the outside.
