Easy dresses, particularly easy work dresses, are becoming tough to find. Everything has cutouts. So many cutouts. And even when a dress doesn’t have cutouts there’s a large, exposed zipper or a too-deep v-neck or a slit up to there. All I want is a dress I can wear to work on Monday without thinking about it. A professional throw-on.
This is such a dress.
The v-neck is not too deep. The slits are not too high. The whole look is tailored, but relaxed. Nordstrom has given us this Shortsleeve Sheath because it loves us and wants us to be happy. They have also give it to us in inclusive sizing.
I was so excited to see this dress, not just because it’s reasonably priced, but because it has waist tailoring. Which, once you’ve had a baby, you respect in a whole new way. I ordered mine to the store so I can have it properly tailored, that’s how serious I am about this particular sheath dress.

Bought it. I appreciate the length here. And the slit prevents it from being dowdy.
I love the look of this! What close-toed comfortable work shoes would you pair with it?
Any non-ankle strap heel. The midi length makes the ankle strap slice your leg line in a strange place.
Hi,Belle (long-time reader), Just curious. What kind of alterations do you typically get/think are flattering?
