Yesterday, I texted a friend in Seattle: I am now the woman who owns multiple puffer vests. Her response? Congratulations on holding out for this long.
Welcome to the Pacific Northwest, where eventually, the puffer vests find us all. But luckily, this one’s fairly stylish. (If a puffer can be stylish.)
This LL Bean puffer vest has a now made two appearances on the blog and one in the newsletter, so it’s officially a wardrobe staple. I like the way it blends woodsy casual with a bit of style. The burnished buttons, woven zipper pulls, and mix of materials elevate it above your standard North Face or Patagonia. (I can’t believe those words just came out of my brain. The pandemic really has changed us all.)
The vest comes in misses, plus, and petite sizes. You can snap it up in black or navy. I will probably own the navy by next week.
Send help.
I joke, but this vest does look nice with a black sweater and leggings. It layers well over a button-up chambray shirt. And I layer it over my athleisure pieces when I’m headed out to walk the dogs on a chilly morning. It’s nice to find a utility player that looks good too.

What size did you get?
I live on the east coast but love a good vest for my daily dog walks as well. Just purchased this one from Athleta, had a gift card, and I’m super happy with it. Puffy vests that aren’t too puffy are an essential.

That’s such a good looking vest and was ready to add to cart, but then saw the price, and thought “this can’t be an impulse buy before you even finish your coffee.” I did, however, impulse buy fleece lined leggings from Lands’ End yesterday and will report back, ha!
Thanks for pointing me to Land’s End! I’ve been looking for high waisted fleece lined leggings that come in tall! They’re surprisingly hard to find sometimes. Tall people problems.
I am unashamed to love a good puffer vest, but I find they’re hard to pair with jackets to wear over them. Double collars never look good. Any styling tips?
