Let’s face facts, cocktail recipes can be complicated. Many call for bitters, mixers, and liquors that most people don’t keep on hand. And when the recipe for a cocktail has more ingredients than a recipe for a three-course meal, it might be time to throw up the white flag. Luckily, The New York Times has published a list of eight delicious summer cocktails that only have three ingredients.
The drink above is called the Cherry Caipirissima. It contains cherries, white rum and simple syrup. They also recommend a lime to brighten it. For those of you whose childhood memories contained cherry limeade, I highly encourage you to try it. It was a little strong for me, so I added some seltzer.
Anthropologie Tangelo Dress ($188)
Every once in a while, I catch the Anthropologie fever. It’s a summertime affliction. I all I want is to wear pretty dresses in bold prints and colors and there is no place better for that than Anthro.
This Tangelo dress is perfect for a summer wedding or party, you could even add a navy cardigan and a belt for casual Fridays. I also love the not-too-pretty floral print on this Perlata dress in the blue motif. This Matilde dress comes in two neutral colors and a bold green. But this Signe dress in both a vibrant blue and a gorgeous green is my favorite.
However, in my book, the first rule of shopping Anthro is to check the sale section first. There I found this gorgeous pink-coral dress and these two dresses (Chanda and Gamma) in bold, eclectic prints.
Many of these dresses come in petite, but my favorite petite frock is this red Tracy Reese dress with a keyhole back.
Plus-size? Sadly, this is one store that hasn’t figured out that women of all sizes make great customers. So I pulled a few colorful dresses from other places. This orange print dress from Studio 10 is nice. I also like this IGIGI cobalt dress with a crochet cap sleeve. And don’t miss this verdant maxi tank dress.
Wow, I’m not a huge fan of Anthro generally, but that Chanda dress is gorgeous!
