There’s an old rule that says no white after Labor Day. I’ve been ignoring it since my Hill staffer days, and I’m not stopping now. An ivory suit in winter is a power move. When everyone else in the conference room is in dark colors, you walk in looking like the person who has her life together, even if you ate the leftover crust from your child’s waffle over the sink 20-minutes ago. It’s crisp and bright against a grey winter sky, and it looks far more expensive than it has any right to.
Yes, you’ll need to keep it away from coffee and toddlers. But I promise it’s worth it. And, as if you needed another reason, this suit is pajama-level comfortable in the softest ponte fabric. I wear it’s black version whenever I have a 16-hour day and need to feel good about living.

Spanx Ponte Tailored Blazer ($228)

Spanx Ponte Trouser Pant ($158)
Don’t wear this with flip flops. I can’t even imagine a world where I would suggest that, but Spanx doesn’t sell shoes, so maybe that is why. For me, I would try a burgundy flat. Or just grab a standard black shoe.
