When I was a young staff assistant, I remember being shocked by the price of a good quality work bag. Hundreds of dollars definitely wasn’t in my price range. Now, I carry a Lo & Sons Trinity Bag. I adore it, but am still cognizant that, while I think the bag is well priced, $370 isn’t affordable. So when friends in Montana’s Legislature raved about a bag from Canada that offered size, organization, and style, I decided to check it out.

Meet The Uptown Tote from Poppy & Peonies. A laptop bag that you could use to pack for a long weekend, if you were so inclined. With 453 five-star reviews, and costing just $125, I see why it’s so popular with my colleagues in the Big Sky State.
Or perhaps, you would prefer their Double Duty Tote with the built in lunch compartment. Whatever your needs, Poppy & Peonies seems to have a match for them. You can also purchase a truly stunning number of accessories — tech cases, makeup pouches, wallets, key charms, etc.
I’ve seen my friends carrying these bags for years packed with everything from bill briefs and coffee mugs to children’s toys and extra shoes. They are the bag you will wish you own when you were a junior staffer on the commute, but will still be grateful you own as a chief of staff.

I love this bag! I know the Lo and Sons bag is super popular, and for some reason I assume everyone who has one is a consultant, and I have a bias against consultants. (Apologies to any consultant readers, I’m sure you are great) Added to wishlist!
How heavy are they? I’ve looked at them and they seem really heavy.
All of my friends pack them REALLY full, so the ones I’ve seen are heavy, because I’ve never seen one not packed to the gills.
I had a Poppy and Peony bag and switched to the trinity. I liked the P&P bag a lot. One thing to note is they are not as structured and the trinity and so the flopping over drove me insane.
Both great bags and hold tons of stuff!
