The Range: Bye Bye, Everlane

May 19, 2026

Saturday, I sat down to work on the blog while Sloane was napping. I was browsing, and spotted some really cute things at Everlane. So I wrote this whole post about my favorite picks from their current collection.

Then, on Sunday, I saw the sad news: Shein is buying Everlane.

Fantastic. I purchased so many things from Everlane over the past six months, and now, never again. Nothing like ultra-fast fashion made in ethically questionable conditions to destroy one of the last direct-to-consumer brands that wasn’t terrible. So…smoke em while you got em, I guess. Here are the last pieces I would consider buying from Everlane before it becomes a sweatshop dupe of itself.

So many t-shirts right now are cropped or cropped adjacent. You can barely find one that is long enough to tuck in. This one is long enough. The material is also a goldilocks weight, and there are a lot of colors to choose from. I take a medium.

Everlane is (was?) a reliable place to buy 100% cotton sweaters that didn’t feel like tissue paper. I love the mix of textures on the yoke on this boatneck sweater. Awesome spring sweater.

I own a couple of jersey tank dresses that I have struggled to wear for WFH in the air conditioned months. When I spotted this chunky sweater, I thought layering an open knit sweater over it could be a fun idea. Still summery, but not frozen like a lemonade.

This swingy linen dress was one of the first things I purchased for summer. It fits like a dream. So comfortable, so forgiving. If you’re not feeling it today. If you’re pregnant or postpartum. If it’s so hot the idea of fabric on your skin makes you want to cry. This is your dress. Four colors.

I purchased this these crossover sandals last summer. When I heard about the sale, I bought a backup pair. They are the easiest, chicest sandal — the perfect mix of earthy bohemian and Montauk preppy. If you wear the Everlane Day Glove flats as commute shoes (they were a popular choice for years), I suggest you also buy a backup pair or two.

This is deeply disappointing. I was close to placing an Everlane order today and have abandoned it!

That’s what I said on Instagram. Someone pointed out that Shein hasn’t taken over yet, so now may be the last opportunity to buy good stuff.
