Thursday Outfit: Breezy in Linen

I love an outfit that mixes textures. Chunky knits with smooth silks. Soft wool with sheer mesh. Stiff leather with flowy chiffon. It’s a nice way to add interest to an outfit. So this look, mixing wool, linen, and cotton with bold accessories, was right up my alley.

The lightness of this linen top from Banana Republic gives you an easy throw on top that you can wear with shorts or jeans or pants. You can layer on sweaters for more warmth or add jackets with ease. I also love this boatneck option from J.Crew (up to 3X) and this linen t-shirt from Banana.

Someone asked me how to keep linen from wrinkling, and the answer is you don’t. If the wrinkles really bother you, The Laundress makes a wrinkle release spray that can lessen the impact throughout the day.

For the sweater, I chose a breezy oatmeal look from Abercrombie. If you want a 100% cotton sweater, I own this roll neck sweater from Quince. For the pants, I chose a simple cropped chino. I also like these barrel leg chinos from Land’s End, which, at $49, are the price I am willing pay for a trend piece and come in a wide range of sizes. For something more relaxed, try these Everlane pants.

For the accessories, the inspo photo is extremely bold. I love the chartreuse purse and the leopard flats. If you would prefer a sandal, these tortoise sandals from Larroude are impossibly chic.
