Yes, I am still sick. We have entered week three. I am coughing up blood, so I feel like I should pick up a shift at the Moulin Rouge.
Both doctors I saw this week told me that my lungs sound good and that I’ll be fine in a few days. Do I believe them? White House press conferences are more convincing. I’ll post as much as I can while I convalesce, but I’ve stopped trying to predict whether I will be well enough.
Regardless, I did get some window shopping in this weekend, and I found something that is perfect for your work wardrobe, whether your desk is in your guest room, the marble halls of a capitol building, or a glass tower in the sky.

This sweater jacket from Anthropologie is so pretty and cool, a rare combination these days. Like the popular girl in high school who is also nice. The sweater jacket has an eyelash knit with contrast trim stitching. It fits in a way that is both a little boxy, but perfectly tailored. The sleeve length is perfect for warmer months.
You can wear this piece casually with shorts, like the model, if you’re headed to brunch or a family get together. You can wear it with a simple black sheath for the office or flowy trousers and a blouse. Or layer it over cropped kick flare denim and a cotton tank for work from home. At under-$130, this topper is a fun piece that adds a little pizzazz to your spring wardrobe.
Also, this brand, NVLT, has a lot of cute top layers that you can style up or down. This tie front-open work sweater also caught my eye — it would be so cute with white jeans or a white top and white trousers.

Have you had a chest x-ray? (No need to post this).
From an advanced practice nurse with 50 years of experience. Worked in DC, love your posts!
No, no one has offered up an Xray. Likely because they listen to the lungs and they sound clear.
I’m going to second this, from a doctor with 25 years of experience. I was in the same situation three years ago, insisted on a chest X-ray, which led to a more accurate diagnosis. Stethoscope exam of the lungs is NOT a sensitive test, and if you need to prove that to your doctor, here’s a recent article on the matter: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7192898/#:~:text=For%2034%20studies%20the%20overall,37%25%20and%20specificity%2089%25.
Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!
Third the vote on this, I’ve had pneumonia 3x where “lungs sound clear” but chest x ray shows it…Feel better!
Thanks for the article. Got an Xray today. No signs of pneumonia. Taking steroids and a stronger cough medicine. It looks like I injured the bronchus. We will see if it heals on its own, if not, an endoscopy for me. What a wild ride.
I’m sorry you’re down for the count.
I was walloped last Fall by a cascade of illnesses for 6 weeks. After a the 3rd trip to my GP — b/c a prior visit found an ear infection that was treated by penicillin that I then had an allergic reaction to (add full body rash to the list of maladies), my doctor opined that I might’ve had mono.
Mono.
I’M 50 YEARS OLD! I didn’t realize people my age got mono. and clearly it was not on my GP’s radar initially either.
I eventually turned a corner but it took waaaaay more time than I wanted to give.
If it ends up that you’re a member of the Perimenopause Mono Club, welcome, sister.
I’m so sorry to hear you’re still sick. But am glad you got an xray. Similar to the other ladies, my doctor missed my case of walking pneumonia and the coughing (with blood) was thought to be just a throat irritation. Hope you feel better soon.
