If you had told me four years ago that chartreuse green would become my favorite color, I’d have told you that you were mad. But here we are. There’s something about this not-neutral, vibrant, verdant hue that has just grabbed me. If you have not accepted chartreuse as the second coming of cobalt for the ladies who prefer neutrals, let me show it to you in a business casual outfit that drips of relaxed glamour.

Sweater // This J.Crew cashmere cardigan is the star of the show. It’s classic, refined, a staple. The green isn’t neutral, but it feels wearable and cool. If the white buttons aren’t for you, a tailor could easily replace them with something a bit darker.
Tuckernuck has a slightly shorter style in a pear green. MM LaFleur has a v-neck style in this color. For something under-$50, Amazon has this waist-length cardigan.
Blouse // Pale blue with a ruffled collar, the inspiration photo offers a simple basic with a little something extra. Ralph Lauren has the look here, but a striped shirt would fit better into my wardrobe, so I chose this J.Crew option. If you want something truly cool, the AYR Tate shirt in blue is my next workwear purchase.
Jeans // The Paige Anessa jeans are still my favorite Cool Mom jean. Quince makes a similar jean in multiple inseam lengths. No, I will not be wearing barrel leg jeans this spring. No, I will not be taking questions on this matter.
Accessories // The inspiration outfit was a great starting place, but it felt a little unfinished. First, it needed a belt, because if I’m tucking a shirt into jeans, I’m going to need a belt, if only to hold my jeans up all day and secure the tuck. I chose this B-Low Belt because it is the only belt brand where the quality holds up to the price. And how often do you really buy a belt? Buy one of these, wear it for a decade-plus.
Next, I chose a cool, but wearable shoe. These Una slingbacks from M.Gemi are modern and chic without trying to hard. They gifted me a pair, and I bought a second, and that’s high praise from a woman who does not wear slingbacks because of the slapping sound. Luckily, the thicker strap keeps the slapping at bay.
If this look is not for you, may I suggest a mule? This woven one from Nisolo is so chic.
Choosing a bg for this look, I felt this navy Cuyana bag kept the color palette fresh. A darker green could also be nice, or just match the belt and shows with a simple tan.
For the jewels, these David Yurman hoops are my birthday wishlist. They’re not on the list, they’re the whole list. I adore them. For something similar in two-tone, both Ana Luisa and Shashi have two-tone hoop styles.
Also, several of you asked for a dupe for the Krewe sunglasses that are everywhere. These Velvet tortoise sunglasses have the same cool vibe. Quince also has a pair that will work.
Styling // This look says, every day beauty. I want a rosy cheek. (Magnetic is intimidating in the pan, it’s soft on the cheek.) I want a berry lip. I also want shiny hair.

Barrel leg jeans baffle me. Thank you for holding the line.
Seconded.
