Yesterday was a hard one. I flew back to Olympia late, didn’t sleep well, and then had to rush to work with unwashed hair for Policy Cutoff Day shenanigans. All I wanted was to show up in pajamas and slippers, and give the 50th Legislative Day the middle finger. But I am an adult, and I need to get dressed for work even when I don’t want to.
Enter the Spanx Ponte Blazer ($228) and Ponte Wide Leg Pants ($158). The drape on the pants is perfect. The wider lapels and slim cut of the blazer, sublime. I put on a business suit that felt like pajamas. I have never been so comfortable.
Beyond that, I had full range of motion. I could have done jumping jacks in this suit if the mood had struck me.
The key to making a ponte suit look more expensive is too fold: 1) wash on the delicate cycle, on cold, in a large wash bag, and 2) buy a steamer. I feel like I have owned every steamer that influencers peddle, and this one is actually the best handheld version.
This is a great suit. Not a court suit or a big meeting suit. But a great every day suit.
