The Find: A Chic Going Out Top

At 43, my going out days are mostly behind me, but I still like to try a little bit harder on dates with my husband. But halter tops, spaghetti straps, etc. no longer appeal to me. Luckily, MarcellaNYC exists.

Even with a selection of party tops and dresses, the Monroe top continues to be my favorite.  It pairs a strapless ponte base with a ruched mesh overlay.  You can wear it with black pants, a skirt, or jeans.  Just add a fun earring and a cool shoe and you’re done.

As for sizing, I was right between two sizes and I chose to go up.  I think that was the right call.  

Some of you might be turned off by the fact that this top looks best with a strapless bra, but that’s not a concern for me given how cool the top is.  As a 38-small C, I use the Cakes Cleavage Bra.  When I have to wear an underwire strapless bra, I wear this Wacoal bra.
