The Find: Cozy Plane Clothes

Well, I suppose it’s time to talk about it.

A few weeks ago, I told you that I left my firm in the early fall to escape the stress of the billable hour and spend more time with Sloane. As I was contemplating next steps, an opportunity with the Washington State House of Representatives arose. So every Sunday until session ends March, I will fly to Olympia, WA, work all week on the westside and then fly back to Spokane on the weekends. It’s not ideal, but it’s something we’re trying. Being back in legislative work is weird, and I’m not sure it’s permanent, but again, it’s something I’m trying.

Being away from Sloane is tough, but the payback is that, during the interim, I will be working a 4-day work week, have much less stress, and pick up significant time with her. I will also have actual vacations that only accumulated overtime hours from a long session can make possible. So I am promised by co-workers in similar positions that I will get it all back.

As a result of my temporary relocation, I am spending a lot of time in cars, on planes, and in airports. Leaving a long work day, driving an hour to the airport, and then flying home, to spend another hour driving to my house requires a post-work costume change. Right now, my clothing of choice is from Spanx. So here are my favorite plane pieces.

I like the wider sleeves on this Relaxed Tee because I can layer it over a button-up work top if I need to, or just over a long sleeve t-shirt.  Super comfy and easy to wear.  Highly recommend.

Raise your hand if you’re grateful flare legs are back.  I am too.  These Flare Leg Pants are my favorite thing to wear on Sundays right now.  I like them with a tee and a casual jacket for more structure.  So comfortable.
