Two Ways: A Moody Floral Blouse

Sep 2, 2025

I love a fall floral. A pretty print in a moody color always looks just a little bit more put together than a solid. This blouse’s subtle floral makes it great for the office, whether yours is professional or business casual.

The Blouse // This dark floral from Paige is a great fall blouse. The navy, green and tan palette keeps to the season, while the material is light enough to layer. In a season filled with solids and plaids, florals bring a femininity to the colder weather. This Veronica Beard blouse has a more dramatic floral print. This more affordable Mango blouse has a late-90s vibe that feels very on trend.

Look One // I love a dark green suit. It’s such a great alternative to black or navy for the colder seasons. Paired with the neutral hues in the floral blouse, it looks more elevated than a simple solid.

This Reiss suit with wide leg pants and a double breasted blazer is a chic choice. Ann Taylor also has a green suit right now. Brooks Brothers is also rocking a green suit. If you don’t have one yet, try one on. you might be surprised.

Accessories start with a chocolate brown shoe, like this modern Sam Edelman slingback. Black would feel too harsh here. Navy is also an option, but you’re more likely to get the wear out of a brown shoe. For balance, I chose a suede tote from Demellier, which is perfect for work. Need something more affordable? This JW Pei bag is <$175 and looks incredible.

To finish it off, I added these absolutely stunning Tiger’s Eye earrings from Monica Vinader. I own these, and they are immaculate. If you have a Christmas list (I know, I can’t believe I said it either), add these to it. You will not regret it.

For styling, I recommend hair down, maybe half up. I added this very popular lip color from Fenty Beauty. It has the right plum-berry combo. The color pairs well with the hues in the blouse.

Look Two // I could have chosen so many colors of cardigan to pair with this blouse — tan, green, mauve, navy — but this pale blue Veronica Beard just felt right. Simple. Elegant. Subtle. Like the color, but not the price? Try this one from Abercrombie.

For the denim, I chose my favorite wide leg jeans from Paige. The Anessa jean has a perfectly relaxed feel. If you need a similar style for less, Wit & Wisdom has a similar style. The lighter wash wide leg is my favorite jean right now.

Accessories are even more important with a casual outfit. I love these navy Rothy’s loafers if you plan to wear jeans to work. They’re comfortable, but slightly dressier than sneakers. Need a real dress shoe? These C. Paravano almond-toe Mary Janes are fantastic. To close out the look, I added this sleek Cuyana shoulder bag in a gorgeous green and these unique gold hoops from Nordstrom Rack.

For the styling, I would wear a high ponytail with this and tie the cardigan around my shoulders. For the makeup, if you wear bronzer on your cheeks instead of blush, Merit’s Bespoke and Postmodern shades give you a pink cheek with a brown undertone. So it brightens your look without being too pink.

I really like this blouse. Like other Paige blouses – included the much-heralded one from the Nordstrom anniversary sale – this one appears far too sheer to wear to work. What are you wearing underneath it? A cami? Bodysuit?

I was pleasantly surprised by C Paravano flats I bought from a previous post link.

I appreciate both of these looks. The hunter green with the pale blue cardigan feels fresh but put-together! I don’t have a need to wear suits in my job, but will take inspiration from this look for my own pants and darker fall florals. Thank you!
