Once upon a time, a blogger wrote on this very site that she would never wear a jumpsuit to work. One pandemic later, she feels differently. Offices are much more casual, many of us work from home at least some days, and being uncomfortable in your office attire is no longer a job requirement. So when I spotted this professional, chic outfit, I decided to recreate it.

Once again, Pinterest has hidden the source of this photo. If you recognize this stylish woman, please let us know who it is in the comments, so we can offer her a follow. Clearly, she deserves it.
I love this outfit for several reasons. First, it looks professional but also relaxed. Second, it looks incredibly comfortable. And third, I can wear this at home and then transition it to the office for a casual day without effort.
The Jumpsuit // I was converted to jumpsuits for work from home two years ago when I bought a rust-colored jumpsuit to wear while pregnant. At home, there are no serious bathroom concerns (since undressing at work still feels a bit strange to me). And a jersey jumpsuit is just as comfortable as pajamas or sweats.
This jumpsuit from Anne Klein is incredible. The shape is versatile and flattering. It also comes in black, sizes run from 0-16. It is also cut full length so you can hem it to your preference. Karen Kane is also a great place to buy jumpsuits. Banana Republic Factory also has several options. Plus-size? Try Land’s End.
The Blazer // Styling ideas for a light-colored tan blazer are popping up in my feed frequently. It’s a nice option for warmer weather and can be easily blended into other outfits. A replacement for a white blazer, if you will.
I chose this Old Navy linen blazer for summer because it is an affordable, stylish option that also comes in petite and tall. If you’re not a linen person (which I am not), Ann Taylor has a similarly soft oatmeal color in their signature crepe fabric. Plus-size? This Macy’s twill blazer is a nice option.
The Accessories // The shoes here need to be flat and they need to be pointed toe. That’s what lengthens the leg line, keeps the casual feel, but still ups the professionalism. These Everlane flats have an open-strap back to keep them light and breezy, but still office approved.
As for the bag, even four years after its release, I still think this Everlane bag gives you basic tote with a little something extra. If you want a simpler basic, Quince has a popular option.
For the belt, an elastic belt is going to be your best option for an option that’s fitted but comfortable. I found this <$15 option at Amazon and it’s fabulous, comes in lots of colors.
For the pendant, I chose this Missoma zodiac pendant. Astrology isn’t usually my thing, but I thought the pendant was beautiful. It would make a lovely gift.
As for the watch, this is the exact Seiko watch my Mom wore when I was young. I think I may buy it for the nostalgia (or see if she still has hers). It’s not a fancy watch, but it’s pretty and simple and subtle. Gucci has a similarly thin watch that you can find in resale.
Styling // The relaxed waves are perfect for this look. They say “I made an effort, but not too much effort!” I bought this Trademark waver a few months ago. It’s basically a fancy crimping iron and makes getting those “undone” waves really easy. They make different barrel sizes for long or short hair, which most companies don’t make.
As for the makeup, you want it natural with a boost. I liked this tutorial for a glowy makeup look that isn’t too much. If you need a beginner tutorial, this Youtube tutorial is a great option.

I love this! And already have all the pieces to recreate it. Yay!
Okurrr this has me rethinking shoe choices for jumpsuits now (in a good way). I have similar .. may need to rework some of my jumpsuits now.
I love a good jumpsuit but the thought of taking off the blazer and belt and somehow wrangling the back zipper down so I can go to the bathroom 4 or 5 times in a workday keeps me from purchasing these styles.
This outfit is so good though!
Look at Athleta jumpsuits (Brooklyn specifically)- depending upon your office, I make their jumpsuits work easily with a cardigan or blazer and shoes or sneakers depending upon the occasion. Their jumpsuits all button or zip in the front and are SO comfortable. I wear them when traveling too as they don’t wrinkle easily and pack like a dream. Not sure if they’re still in stock, but poshmark has many online…
