It’s -17 degrees today. It snowed so much this weekend we had to plow the driveway at my parents’ house every hour. Like the man on Instagram says, “Everyone wants to live in Montana until they have to do Montana s**t.” But believe it or not, it will be spring…eventually. So here are a few pieces to get your spring wardrobe planning started.

01. Short Trench Coats // If you like a long trench, you’re going to love its more diminutive sister. These swingy coats are everywhere this spring. This one from Boden is an absolute classic (also in petite); I actually love the darker caramel color. I would never have thought this one from Land’s End was only $104 (also in plus). Gap also has a <$50 version that looks great (tall and plus).
02. Green Stripes // Forget navy, tan or black — the stripe color of the spring is green. This shirt from Ann Taylor is now a wardrobe staple for me. It’s easy, classic, and work ready. I also love this striped Sezane button up. Or if you want something affordable and fun, I own this J.Crew Factory tee.
03. Woven Totes // If you love a simple tote for work and weekend, this woven style is the belle of the ball this year. St. Agni’s is the gold standard, but this Madewell tote and this Quince option are both good. This slouchier Anthro option is also a solid pick. Need something under-$75? This suede shoulder bag style caught my eye.
04. Ecru Wide Legs // Creamy colored denim is on the wishlists of most of the influencers I follow. I like a wider leg (usually cropped) for a modern, but wearable, look. This color transitions well into warmer weather because it’s not bright white. Wear it with your fall/winter earth tones then bring in navy and red.
This pair from Sezane are a lovely choice. These classic Levi’s are a throwback option that feels current. If you want something really wide try these AGOLDE jeans.
05. Glossy Lips // A big makeup trend for spring is glossy lips. Not gloss, but glossy balms. Victoria Beckham has the most in-demand choice right now. For myself, I’m partial to both the Summer Fridays option and this affordable Burt’s Bees option.
06. Baseball Caps // Whether they’re your second day hair solution or you just love a sporty look, ball caps are big for spring. This hat from Ralph Lauren Polo comes in lots of colors. Tan is also a popular color for spring. I own this Anine Bing cap (I love that it’s my initials.) and Favorite Daughter is a fun brand. Want something cool? Don’t miss these Clare V. caps.
So what trends do you love for winter to spring? Leave them in the comments.

I hope this post means you’re feeling better!
It seems like everyone is sick where we live.
Have you tried, or have any opinions on, Mary Orton’s Chord baseball caps? I really love the idea of a (nearly) logo-less cap that has a bit more structure than the generic caps I find on Amazon, but also struggle with the idea of dropping $120+ on a baseball cap.
I have not.
Hi! A little consumer feedback – the Quince woven bag is not worth the money. The handles are too thin and poorly constructed and start to fall off pretty quickly from basic use. I own it and would not recommend it.
I have had the opposite experience! I’ve been carrying mine since the end of Summer 2024 regularly and it isn’t showing any wear. The handles are thin, but that hasn’t been a problem for me.
Great post. I love the AT blouse. Does it require ironing, as it’s all cotton? Guessing I wouldn’t put it in the dryer. I already have shirts I don’t wear because they require ironing, ha.
I hang dry mine, but I do hit it with an iron. Have you tried a Nori iron? So much better.
Thank you! I’ll check out the iron.
