The Range: A Thanksgiving Dinner Dress

Oct 31, 2024

Thanksgiving is almost upon us, and this year, we are headed to Minnesota to see my husband’s family. As a result, I need to find a dress that is comfortable enough to chase a toddler in, eat in, and also looks nice. Seems easy. Luckily, an a-line sweater dress should do the trick.

Can you give some examples on shoes to wear with dresses like these? Ideally some options that do not include heels!

I love the look of these dresses, but I always feel like sweater dresses show every lump and ripple–which would include my Thanksgiving food baby!

Yeah I think the main difference between the $1500 version and the $150 version and the $50 versions are the under things. I think support/compression garments, if needed, then a smoother like a camisole or slip or similar, whatever they’re called now, and then the dress. And that’s a lot of layers and very hot indoors when the oven is on and chasing a toddler, or even sitting with one on your lap, and getting up and down. But damn does it look good and looks easy even if it’s not
