As I prepare for fall, my wardrobe need a bit of a refresh, and I’m still thinking about how I intend to dress now that I’m 90% work-from-home. Some days I need comfort, some days I need style. So this Monday, I’m combining some reviews of recent purchases with some wishlist, window shopping items to give you a fuller picture of where my head is at right now.
Boden always has the most delightful pieces. They offer a bit of whimsy and joy, but also wear well and fit beautifully. Whether you’re dressing for a professional office or a casual life, you can find something you’ll love and wear often.
I admired this Trim Smocked Dress for several weeks before I finally bought it. I love a fall floral, and this cognac color with neutral blooms is perfect for work, relaxed date nights, or church. I paired it with my beloved Loeffler boots, and the look is just sublime.
On my wishlist from this retailer is this absolutely to.die.for oxblood faux leather skirt. I would wear this with an ivory sweater and chocolate brown boots. This Mila t-shirt with upgraded details has been sitting in my cart and is ready to be mine. I’m also eying this borg fleece jacket with quilted panels. I love the mix of ivory and olive.
Charm necklaces and bracelets are on the shopping lists of all the cool fashion-girlies this fall. The Foundrae pieces are the most coveted, but in a price point most of us cannot embrace. Mignonne Gavin makes the Chrystie charm necklace above, which is just as beautiful and significantly less expensive. She has lots of pieces to choose from that keep with this chunky, modern style.
For a slightly daintier, classic choice, Monica Vinader has lots of options. I love all of these charms, but this peace dove is just the best.
Tanya Taylor is fast becoming one of my favorite brands. This Carlita Top is definitely on my wishlist. It comes in this stripe, a lighter stripe, and white. I love the peplum and the whole vibe.
I own their Cody knit dress and it’s the perfect fall transition dress. It looks great with boots and a topper for the office. It’s also fabulous with sneakers for the farmer’s market.
When was the last time I ran out of lip product before it expired? I don’t think I ever have, until this Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil came into my life. The Rosewood Nights shade is perfect for fall. The product is amazing versatile, giving just enough color without being over the top. And it doesn’t dry out my lips. I can’t get enough.
Even after 16 years of blogging, I still get “influenced” by other content creators on the regular. These J.Crew Denim Trouser jeans were recommended by Kate, and I bought them immediately in the light wash. They’re very high waisted but stretchy (very, very stretchy), so you’ll find them comfortable to wear. I loved them so much, I ordered this medium blue wash as well. And they’re 30% off, so they’re destined to be your new favorite fall jean.
If you have a fall piece that you’ve recently purchased and loved, drop it in the comments. We could all use a pick me up as we prepare for colder temps and cloudier days.

My most fun fall purchase in years: A chunky, gold, heart-shaped Kendra Scott mood ring.
A mood ring? Tell me everything.

I’m loving the straight & wider leg denim silhouettes we’re seeing, but after a decade in skinnies, I need some advice on how to wear these as far as shoes/tops. Any interest in doing a post on this? I need ideas from a stylish woman in my age bracket and not the youths on TikTok.
Sure!
Please please include flats/sneakers/flat boots in this write up! I cannot wear heels and knee issues have me in sneakers more often than not but I do love the straight and wider leg pants.
+1. I always see them with heels or pointy toed flats, and neither works for my arthritic feet. Right now I feel like I am destined to stay straight-leg or skinny for forever.
Just a heads up that your recent posts do not have any hyperlinks (at least one my Android phone!)
Same for me. Love the new look.
iPhone user – the hyperlinks are no longer obvious (ie visible difference in text) but still there. I hovered over oxblood faux leather skirt and was able to click to Boden.
Hi Abra!
Hi Abra,
Wondering if you might be able to suggest some fall date night shirts? Just something that’s a step up from day to day. It’s amazing how date night for so many retailers is borderline clubbing gear. 🤪
Let me look into it.
