The Range: Straw Tote Bags

Mar 8, 2024

My closet is not ready for warm weather. Last summer, I was unemployed. The summer before I was pregnant. So pieces that I can re-wear are sparse. To spruce up what I do have, I’m buying a woven straw bag. It’s an easy way to bring a bit of springtime flair to pieces that you rescued from the back of your closet.

This Sezane tote is a great option.  The shape, the leather handle, the simplicity — all give it a real cool-girl vibe.  The scarf is also just a really nice detail.

This pretty tote from Magid has a sweetness to it.  I imagine it with a white, cotton sundress being carried around a farmer’s market.  It’s also $80.

This Ann Taylor bucket bag is 60% off, because it was from last summer.  The marigold satin bag and chic details make this a great piece for adding a different vibe to a t-shirt and jeans.

If I was going to buy one bag from this collection, the & Other Stories tote would be the one.  It’s big, it’s functional, it’s versatile.  It’s a pool bag, a travel bag, a work tote, and cool option for hitting some errands on the way home from brunch.  Plus, it’s under-$100.

Demellier’s Santorini tote comes in multiple colors and sizes.  It’s a speedier option, but if you live in a warmer climate, a useful bag to have.

This Hat Attack tote is the perfect way to transport your beach hat this summer.  Keep your sun protection on lock and haul your essentials in a cool bag.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
