Feb 5, 2024

January seemed to last forever. February will likely fly by. But my life is in transition, and I’ve decided to focus my energy on building for spring. As a result my window shopping is looking toward the future.

ba&sh is one of my favorite brands. The cardigans and blazers are truly phenomenal. I love the weave texture and the oversize buttons on this one. It’s a piece that you can wear in any season. The Outnet carries this brand on discount. This floral print dress caught my eye.

I recently started wearing bronzer again as part of my Merit beauty set. But applying the bronzer in the traditional way can feel too heavy for a regular day. This TikTok technique for minimal bronzer gives you definition in your cheekbones without overdoing it. It’s worth a try. I use this brush to blend it in.

I spotted this Free People packable puffer on Instagram. The pullover style is great. The soft, blanket-like feel is so cozy. It’s also water resistant for wearing in wetter climates. But I love the colors, so many bright, fun options. This violet is my number one pick. It’s the perfect topper for Saturday errands.

Looking for a healthy weeknight dinner that doesn’t take hours to prepare? I shared this Coconut Curry Salmon in the newsletter two weeks ago, and it’s a fabulous recipe. I add a few more vegetables — usually julienned carrot and some zucchini — but it’s a nice alternative to ordering takeout. Also, if you dislike fish, chicken thighs work just as well.

Ever since The Night Is Young went off the market (rest in peace), I’ve been searching for a hydrating product that didn’t break me out and addressed a few of my other skin concerns. Last week, I attended an event here in Spokane and this An-Balm was in the swag bag.

First off, it smells incredible. I mean, incredible. Like the spa of a luxury hotel. Second, it has healed my winter skin. Dryness gone, redness gone, and all without giving me acne, which is no small feat. If you suffer from dry skin, I would give this a try.

So did you come across anything in your weekend window shopping? Leave it in the comments.

What size did you take in the free people topper?

I have been a MASSIVE fan of the BElief aqua bomb moisturizer. I have less acne-prone skin than you do though, so not sure if it’s the best choice but it is SUPER hydrating even in dry, gross winters and has a light, fresh scent.

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
