Monday Morning: November 6, 2023

Nov 6, 2023

I do a lot of window shopping on the weekends.  Some might say too much.  But how do you think I ended up with a fashion blog in the first place?  Do what you love, or so they say.

All of this weekend window shopping leaves me with a very long list of loved items by Monday.  How to share these finds has always been an issue.  Sometimes, sadly, without a through-line, they languish in my reading list until they’re out-of-season, sold out, or forgotten.  Enter Monday Morning, a place to share a few of the things that found over the weekend that might not find a home elsewhere.  Because why should these gems continue to languish in the rough?

How fantastic is this Tipped Military Coat from Boden?  The green color, the navy trim, the gold buttons, everything about it says Saturday brunch before shopping at Selfridge’s.  The whole outfit is incredible.  I’m thinking the sweater vest, with its apres ski vibes, would look perfect under a blue blazer for winter holidays.

I must have stripes on the brain.  My guess is that it’s from seeing this Lake cardigan on every influencer’s page last week.  I snagged this striped button up from the J.Crew Friends & Family sale; it’s a nice layering piece.  This Abercrombie cashmere sweater keeps popping up in all of my social feeds, and I love the soft grey hue.  This Mango sweater with a pop of color also caught my eye; the red feels very fresh to me.

If you have a family event this holiday season that requires a dress, but you don’t want to feel or be overdresses, this Halogen wrap-detail dress comes in ivory and black.  It looks like the perfect easy to wear dress.  And it would go wonderfully with my new boots, not that I’ve already added it to my cart and planned outfits with it.

The open-back and sleek look of this Magda Reiss jumpsuit have me rethinking any opinion that I’ve ever had about jumpsuits.  The look is impossibly chic.  It would be perfect for a holiday party or to wear to a conference under a blazer and then, without the blazer to an evening event.

So did you do any shopping this weekend?  (Window or otherwise.)  Share your gems in the comments.

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
