The Find: A Sleeveless Dress That I Love

May 31, 2023

As you know, I have a bias toward sleeves.  I want my arms covered so I don’t have to wear a jacket all the time.  But every now and again, a dress comes along that makes me rethink this position.  A dress so stylish I wonder if I might be willing to occasionally wear something sleeveless.  This is such a dress.

I told you, this Belted Lapel Flare Dress from Ann Taylor is so chic.  It reminds me of the early days of MM LaFleur when you’d rush to the new arrivals section because you needed that Tory, and you needed it now.  This dress runs XXS to XL and is also available in petite.

If you like a sleeveless dress, I envy you, because AT has a lot of lovely choices right now.  I like this square neck, cotton dress in navy.  This flare dress in a fresh blue for summer.  And this belted dress with a ruffle sleeve detail that perfectly blends cute and elegant.

Love this choice! And can easily transform to cover your arms by wearing an underlayer so pretty versatile too.

What blazer or cardigan and color would you wear with this dress pictured?

  3. Kate says:

Love the dress in theory but the reviews were pretty bad. I notice that a lot of your picks come from Ann Taylor but often times, they have not so great reviews.

I don’t pay much attention to the AT reviews. I can’t recall ever seeing an item with universally positive reviews.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
