The Range: Great Beach and Pool Bags

May 16, 2023

When I was little, my Mom was always searching for a great “pool bag.”  Not too big.  Not too small. Something that held water toys, towels, extra clothes, and a few extras.  And as we approach the summer season, I find myself searching for a great pool/beach bag.  Here are a few.

This affordable Target bag comes in a wealth of colors.  The mesh material helps the sand fall out so you don’t wind up taking the beach home with you.  And the side pockets are really great.

Need a larger mesh bag?  This Amazon option has a more structured shape in the same mesh fabric.    How about one with backpack straps?  This Target bag has you covered in a bright aqua.

Prefer a classic bag?  The LL Bean Boat and Tote with a zip-top pocket is that classic.  I like their all-black option.  If you need a shoulder strap, try the Nor’Easter.

Straw bags are a beach staple.  This picnic tote from Target is a great option.  This Banana Republic straw tote has a really unique shape.  This oversize tote with a ribbon accent from Mark & Graham is also fabulous.

If you have a favorite beach bag, leave it in the comments.

Though a bit suburban-mom-starter-kit, I love my Bogg bag (xlarge). It’s made of thick, but squishy plastic, so my kids cannot hurt it and it’s completely waterproof. Comes with clear plastic removable pouches that velcro to the inside perfect for phone and keys.

Aldi has a Bogg bag duplicate right now that’s getting a lot of attention on social media. Had not seen the Bogg bag before.

I love my big scout bag. Very large, holds its shape well and comes in tons of cute patterns! I just have an extra pouch in there for smaller things like sunscreen and cell phones!

Same – It looks borderline too big but when we are leaving the pool with wet towels, kid clothes, sunscreen, and all the random snacks, toys, stuff that my 2 kids end up bringing I am so glad to have bought it. Holds up and has a zipper. It’s a tank, holds up, but you will need a separate pouch thing for small things.

The target one was what we used last yr for swim lessons. Cant beat the price. It worked for 1 kid but disintegrated after a couple washes – the bottom plastic thing just ripped into pieces, but I wasn’t expecting much for $10. Maybe (definitely) we take too much stuff but it would not have been enough room for an adult and 2 kids worth of stuff.

Love, love love anything by Aloha – the whole collection is so great and versatile!

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
