I can be funny but that article talks about scripted jokes in a TED Talk. Most humor at work isn’t like that. At work it’s wry comments to your co-worker or manager. And I think the most important aspect there is the most important thing almost every single day at work: know your audience. Probably the CFO isn’t going to think a joke about embezzling is funny, but will the CMO think a joke about expanding marketing to preschoolers by buying commercials on Bluey is funny? Know your audience.

  2. Niki says:

The article about sobriety hits home. When I finally decided to quit drinking, I absolutely thought about whether my friends would turn away (they didn’t), whether I would be less fun (I was more fun vs just being a drunk B), if dating would be awful or hard (it is but that’s an always and now I can accurately assess someone’s compatibility with me vs drunkenly making out with everyone). My life is infinitely better now, but I absolutely had fear around what my life would look like socially after quitting and all that.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
