The Range: Sick Day Must Haves

Jan 3, 2023

Last week was a doozy.

In the days between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, I needed to work three days, clean up holiday decorations, pack, and move to Montana.  So it was the perfect time for Sloane and I to get sick.  Oh, and did I mention, our Schnauzer also needed emergency surgery?

Time for everyone to convalesce on the couch.  And what does one need to survive a sick day with an infant and a dog?  Here’s a list.

This Phoebe Wrap Cardigan is more like a blanket than a sweater, and when you don’t feel well, that’s just what you need.  It comes in four colors, three are on sale.  If you’re looking for something lighter, try the Restore Wrap from Athleta.  Like the cozy, fuzzy blanket style?  Target also has the look for less.

When you don’t feel well, the last thing you need is a waistband that pinches.  These Superflex leggings from 90 Degree by Reflex have an elastic-free waistband that doesn’t bind.  Prefer a little extra warmth?  Try their fleece lined leggings.

I like to be extra cozy when I don’t feel well, and these over-the-knee socks from Free People are just the ticket.  They’re also good for all of your Jennifer Beales Halloween costume needs.

It’s important to stay hydrated when you’re under the weather.  This Stanley 40oz Tumbler is just the ticket.  Don’t care about the handle?  The 30oz is available in significantly more colors.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
