Three Festive Pieces for Holiday Parties

Dec 5, 2022

Do you have a holiday party on the horizon?  Maybe it’s a casual gathering at a friend’s home or a chic cocktail event at a local hotspot.  Either way, these party pieces will help you maximize what you already have in your closet.

Sequin Skirt // Whether you pair to with a simple sweater or a graphic tee, a sequined skirt lets you bring a bit of life to the party.  I like this black skirt with a slit from Dillard’s.  I also love this silver fringe skirt from Anthropologie (so chic).  Or try this flouncy mid-thigh from LOFT.

If you’re looking for a metallic option without sequins, try this pleated Banana Republic skirt.  Plus-size? Try this Vince Camuto skirt.

Velvet Top // Whether you are a Seinfeld fan or not, drape yourself in velvet this holiday season with this gorgeous top from Abercrombie.  This drape neck top from Anthropologie is also a nice option.  And don’t miss this wrap-style top from NY & Co.  Petite? Try this top from Ann Taylor with  a fun tie-detail.

Statement Necklace // Need a little something extra for a casual party but not looking to over do it? Pair this sparkly necklace from Ann Taylor with an ivory crewneck sweater to give it a little boost.  For a bit of color, this blue crystal necklace would look great with a navy sweater.

Not a necklace person? These double-hoop drop earrings are very pretty.  I also like these green crystal teardrop earrings, which would look great with a turtleneck sweater.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

The Find: My Best Workout Shorts

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
