The weather is warming. Many of us are back in the office, at least part time. And it’s time to talk about work attire, because that sweatsuit set you bought in 2020 is not work attire. That was a fever dream. Professional attire is back.
Look No. One // Let’s Hear It for Some Dots // I like polka dots, even at 40. They’re a fun, office appropriate print that works with neutrals beautifully.
This top from Ganni is sold out in most sizes, but if it’s available in yours, snap it up quick. This v-neck Vince Camuto blouse is a look-a-like option (also in plus). And don’t miss this bell-sleeve LOFT top that gives you feminine vibes (also in petite).
Need a pencil skirt? I like AT’s ponte pencil skirt. It’s the most comfortable and most wearable. Runs sizes 00-18, also in petite. So glad it’s back in stock. Oh, and did I mention it’s 30% off with code SUMMER? It’s a steal.
For the shoes, these Nine West pumps have a unique shape and a toe cap. They’re a very cool heel. And for the bag, I went with this <$75 pink satchel (love the understated tassel). For something more neutral, try a subtle-blush tote, which gives the same look without saying, “Hey, I’m pink!”
Lastly, these Chan Luu drop pearls. Yes, please. For weddings, for work, for drinks, for all of it.
Look No. Two // Let’s Meet Bold Color // Cobalt is the color for people who don’t wear color. It’s not as “look at me” as red. It’s not as girly as pink or purple. And it still makes a statement.
This cobalt dress from Calvin Klein is a great starting point. This Alexia Admor dress has an elbow sleeve with puffs (also in plus). And if you’re not up for a dress, this Pleione blouse is a good option (also in plus).
For the shoes, I went with a simple nude-to-me pump. This Cole Haan heel is a great basic, and at this price, who can say no (also in black). I also liked it with this honey brown Foley + Corinna satchel.
As for the accessories, these split hoops with bead detail from Verishop are positively to die-for. I love nothing more than a good staple that brings something extra, and this is them.
Look No. Three // Let’s Go Casual, But Make It Boss // A few weeks ago, a reader asked for advice on how to dress for a casual office but still look like the boss. This is it. Distressed denim, a cool shoe, a modern blazer and a crisp shirt that looks great solo or layered.
If you like button-up shirts, Alex Mill is the brand for you. These shirts are absolute classics. I love this striped option. And don’t get me started about the ruffle collar on this Easy Shirt.
Add in this Banana Republic jacket that I NEVER tire of talking about. (You need it. I just bought it in a larger size to get through pregnancy.) For distressed jeans, I like Joe’s Lara and these very affordable Nautica jeans. Plus-size? Try these jeans from Slink.
Add a red bag, like this fabulous mid-size crossbody from Ted Baker. (How fab is the chain detail?) Give a huarache from Nisolo a try. And you’re ready to go.

“Cobalt is the color for people who don’t wear color.” This made me laugh because I only wear black & white neutrals + cobalt and it’s so true.
LOVE these outfit posts. I ended up ordering a handful of the “Pleione” brand blouses from NRack after clicking over to the one you linked — they look like a great <$30 summer option by themselves or under blazers.
